My clinical experience was positive when I went in 2023 for a meibomian gland unblocking procedure associated with dry eye treatment. However, I recently requested a new quote for the exact same procedure and found that the price had increased from $200,000 to $410,000, an increase of over 100%. I understand that prices can increase over time and that there are adjustments for inflation and operating costs. However, when I asked for an explanation of the increase, the only response I received was that it was the current rate because I hadn't been to the clinic for several years. No justification was offered regarding technological improvements, changes in the procedure, or a broader range of services. I respect the right of any company to set its rates, but as a patient, I believe it's important that increases be reasonable, transparent, and proportionate. In my case, the lack of a clear explanation and such a significant increase led me to look for other options in Bogotá.
