Colombia Dental Implants: Cost Breakdown by Procedure
Colombia dental implants cost about $700 to $900 for the fixture alone and $1,100 to $1,500 for a complete implant, abutment and crown, against roughly $4,500 in the United States. The rest of the dental menu runs from $50 to $95 for a cleaning up to $15,000 to $35,000 for a full-mouth reconstruction. The tables below itemise every procedure we have Colombian pricing for, with the US comparison and the arithmetic on what you actually save. Colombian figures are advertised clinic prices, not audited fee-survey data.
Quick answer
- Complete single implant (fixture, abutment, crown): $1,100 to $1,500 in Colombia versus about $4,500 in the United States, a saving of about 67% to 76%.
- All-on-4 per arch: $6,500 to $9,500 in acrylic, $10,000 to $12,500 in zirconia. All-on-6 per arch: $8,800 to $11,500.
- Porcelain crown: $400 to $600 in Colombia versus about $1,300 in the US. Porcelain veneer: $265 to $490 versus about $1,500.
- Root canal: $170 to $240 in Colombia versus a US average of $838, a saving of about 71% to 80%.
- Orthodontics is the weakest case for travel: metal braces are $1,500 to $3,000 in Colombia against $3,000 to $7,000 in the US, over 12 to 24 months of monthly visits.
- No table includes flights or hotels. A two-trip implant case adds roughly $2,850 to $4,200 in travel.
How to read these prices
Three things before the numbers. The Colombian column comes from clinic price lists and dental-tourism pages, which are advertised prices rather than an audited fee survey; no Colombian equivalent exists. The United States column leans on cost datasets rather than marketing, which is why a few cells read “no reliable dataset figure” instead of inventing one. And savings percentages are calculated against the published ranges in the same row, best case to worst case; where the ranges overlap we say so rather than printing a flattering number.
What do dental implants cost in Colombia by procedure?
The distinction that matters most is between the first two rows. An implant fixture is a titanium post in bone. A complete implant is that post plus abutment plus crown, which is what United States clinics normally quote. Never compare row one to a US restored-tooth price.
| Procedure | Colombia (2026) | United States | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single implant, fixture only | $700 to $900 (spread $570 to $1,200) | No reliable dataset figure | Not comparable |
| Single implant, abutment and crown | $1,100 to $1,500 (spread $900 to $1,900) | About $4,500 ($2,400 to $7,000) | About 67% to 76% |
| All-on-4, per arch, acrylic bridge | $6,500 to $9,500 | $20,000 to $28,000 | About 53% to 77% |
| All-on-4, per arch, zirconia bridge | $10,000 to $12,500 | $25,000 to $38,000 | About 50% to 74% |
| All-on-6, per arch | $8,800 to $11,500 | $25,000 to $30,000 | About 54% to 71% |
| Both arches, All-on-4 twice, acrylic | $13,000 to $19,000 | $30,000 to $55,000 | About 37% to 76% |
| Zirconia prosthesis upgrade, per arch | Add $2,300 to $3,400 | Add $10,000 to $13,000 | Upgrade costs about 66% to 82% less |
| Full-mouth implant rehabilitation, both arches | $15,000 to $35,000 | $30,000 to $70,000 and up | Up to about 79%; ranges overlap at the top |
Full-arch and full-mouth cases have their own decision tree, from acrylic provisionals to candidacy; that is covered in our guide to the cost of full mouth dental implants in Colombia.
What do implant surgery add-ons and extractions cost?
These are the items most often left out of an advertised package, and the ones that change a quote most after a CBCT scan.
| Procedure | Colombia (2026) | United States | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bone graft, per site | $300 to $700 typical; $230 per gram itemised | $549 to $1,575 donor or synthetic; $2,161 to $5,148 using the patient’s own bone | Up to about 81%; ranges overlap at the low end |
| Sinus lift | $600 to $1,430 | No reliable dataset figure | Not comparable |
| Tooth extraction, simple | $75 to $105 | About $350 average ($150 to $800) | About 70% to 79% |
| Tooth extraction, surgical or wisdom | $100 to $225 | Within the $150 to $800 band | Ranges overlap; no reliable percentage |
What do crowns, veneers and smile design cost?
Cosmetic work is where the per-unit saving compounds fastest, because a full case multiplies the gap by ten or twenty teeth.
| Procedure | Colombia (2026) | United States | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Porcelain crown (all-ceramic) | $400 to $600 | About $1,300 to $1,369 ($800 to $2,500) | About 54% to 69% |
| Porcelain veneer, per tooth | $265 to $490 | About $1,500 to $1,759 ($498 to $2,884) | About 67% to 82% |
| Composite veneer, per tooth | $120 to $250 | No separately sourced figure | Not comparable |
| Smile design package, composite (about 20 units) | $2,390 to $3,000 | About $35,000 (calculated, see note) | About 91% to 93% |
| Smile design package, porcelain (about 20 units) | $5,290 to $8,000 | About $35,000 (calculated, see note) | About 77% to 85% |
| Smile design package, zirconia (about 20 units) | About $6,290 | About $35,000 (calculated, see note) | About 82% |
Note on the smile design rows: the $35,000 US figure is a calculation, not an observed package price. It is 20 teeth multiplied by the $1,759 average porcelain veneer cost from the ASQ360 procedural cost study, so treat it as arithmetic. Per-tooth pricing is the sounder comparison; our dental veneers cost guide for Colombia goes deeper on materials.
What do root canals, cleanings and whitening cost?
| Procedure | Colombia (2026) | United States | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Root canal (front tooth to molar) | $170 to $240 | $700 to $1,500; US average $838 | About 71% to 80% against the $838 average |
| Root canal plus crown | $400 to $875 | $1,500 to $3,000 | About 42% to 87% |
| Teeth whitening, in-office | $100 to $300 | $450 to $500 average ($300 to $1,000) | About 33% to 80% |
| Teeth whitening, take-home kit | $80 to $200 | About $350 ($150 to $600) | About 43% to 77% |
| Routine cleaning (prophylaxis) | $50 to $95 | About $200 ($50 to $350) | About 53% to 75% |
| Deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), per quadrant | $45 to $75 | No reliable dataset figure | Not comparable |
The root canal row has unusual context behind it: the United States ranks as the most expensive of seven major industrial nations for common dental procedures, with an average root canal of $838 against $542 in Canada and $436 in France. Colombia’s $170 to $240 sits well below all three.
What do braces and Invisalign cost in Colombia?
These are the least persuasive rows in the reference, and the reason is scheduling rather than price. Braces take 12 to 24 months, complex cases up to three years, with roughly monthly adjustments. A price comparison alone is misleading for anyone who does not live in Colombia.
| Treatment | Colombia (2026) | United States | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metal braces | $1,500 to $3,000 | $3,000 to $7,000 | 0% to about 79%; at $3,000 both are identical |
| Ceramic braces | $2,500 to $4,000 | $4,500 to $9,000 | About 11% to 72% |
| Lingual braces | $3,500 to $7,000 | $8,500 to $11,000 | About 18% to 68% |
| Invisalign and clear aligners | $1,825 to $4,275 by package | $3,000 to $8,000 | Up to about 77%; the top of the Colombian range sits above the bottom of the US range |
If you are considering orthodontics anyway, the directory lists orthodontic practices across Colombia, which suits residents and long-stay visitors more than a two-week trip.
What these tables leave out
Every figure above is treatment only. A two-trip single-implant case carries roughly $2,850 to $4,200 in travel, based on one clinic’s published model of $1,700 to $2,400 for trip one and $650 to $1,150 for trip two. Add that to a $1,200 implant and you reach $4,050 to $5,400, roughly the US price for the same restored tooth. Single-tooth dental tourism to Colombia frequently saves nothing. The saving is real on multi-unit work.
Also outside the tables: meals, the second trip for crown placement after the 3 to 6 month healing window, home-country aftercare, and frequently grafting, extractions, sedation and medication. Hotel nights appear only in bundled packages, with the count tied to lab time. What moves a quote is explained in our guide to what drives dental implant prices in Colombia.
There is a risk column these tables cannot show. The CDC’s 2026 Yellow Book records dental care as the most common form of medical tourism among US residents, names hepatitis B and C, HIV and antimicrobial-resistant organisms among the risks of care abroad, and notes that dentists in destination countries may not face the same licensure oversight as US dentists. Advertised warranties run 5 to 15 years on implants and 1 to 10 years on prosthetics, are self-reported, and mostly require a return flight you may have to fund yourself.
Verify the dentist before you use any of these numbers
Ask for the dentist’s ReTHUS registration number and check it by ID in Colombia’s national registry of health professionals, created under Ley 1164 de 2007; it records authorisation to practise and disciplinary sanctions reported by ethical tribunals. Ask separately for the clinic’s código de habilitación in the REPS provider registry, and check any claimed specialty is a registered especialización rather than an assertion, since odontólogo alone is the general five-year degree. Our guide to choosing a dental implant clinic in Colombia covers the rest.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest dental work to get done in Colombia?
Per unit, cleanings ($50 to $95), in-office whitening ($100 to $300) and root canals ($170 to $240). But the cheapest procedures are the worst candidates for travel, because the flight costs more than the saving. Multi-unit implant and veneer work is where travel pays.
Are these prices per tooth or per case?
Implants, crowns and veneers are per tooth or per unit. All-on-4 and All-on-6 are per arch, so both arches cost roughly double. Deep cleaning is per quadrant, so a full mouth is four times the listed figure. Smile design packages cover about 20 units.
Why do some rows say “not comparable”?
Because no reliable United States dataset figure exists for that item: an implant fixture alone, a sinus lift, a composite veneer per tooth, or scaling and root planing. Rather than repeat a marketing number, we leave the comparison blank.
How accurate are the Colombian prices?
They are accurate as advertised prices, drawn from clinic price lists and dental-tourism pages published in 2026, and they cluster consistently across independent sources. They are not audited fee-survey data, and no Colombian equivalent exists. Expect your written quote after a CBCT scan to differ.
Do Colombian clinics take United States dental insurance?
Treat financing as absent unless a clinic says otherwise in writing; at least one states plainly that it offers no in-house financing and does not accept CareCredit. Around 26% of US adults, roughly 69 million people, have no dental insurance at all, which is a large part of why dental travel exists.
To put these numbers against real providers, browse the directory’s dental clinics across Colombia and dental implant listings, and read our complete dental implant cost guide for the process and timeline behind the figures. This is cost reference information, not medical advice; what you need can only be determined by an examination and imaging.
