On March 16th, I underwent varicose vein surgery. In the days prior, I had seen an anesthesiologist to whom I expressed my concern about a compromised spine. She suggested general anesthesia. However, on the day of the surgery, I was seen by another anesthesiologist named Alejandro Biter, who informed me that it would be spinal anesthesia. I expressed my concern and reminded him of our previous agreement. I told him I had the CT scans and MRIs with me, to which he replied that they were mandatory because the surgery couldn't be performed without them, and that if I didn't have them, I would have to cancel. I told him I preferred to cancel because I was already familiar with the pain; I know my body. The next thing I knew, he gave me a stab wound in my back, tried something else in my arm, and then put me under. I didn't complain at the time because I had two more surgeries scheduled and was hoping it wouldn't cause me pain. But to this day, the pain in my back and the twitching and nervousness throughout my body speak for themselves. The nursing care is excellent. As soon as I can return to the headquarters, I will file a report on what happened. The doctor was very negligent for not taking into account either my decision or that of the previous anesthesiologist.
