Dr. Lilia Graciela Barrera... I wonder if this woman truly has empathy or is just pretending? Because this woman is rude... and that word doesn't even begin to cover it. She's not even capable of respecting her patients (which is the bare minimum...). She thinks that because she's a "professional" (if you can even call her that...) she has the right to look down on everyone and say whatever she wants under the guise of being a "professional" and telling the "truth"... but first, to be a "professional," you have to have respect for others (which she clearly wasn't taught). Nobody goes to a consultation to be treated badly. She boasts about how much she knows and that because she has over a decade of experience (which I doubt), she knows what she's doing. This is just what I witnessed from her. If anyone else has had a bad experience, don't be afraid... share it.

I went when I was 14. The psychologist who saw me was incredibly rude. Instead of focusing on my mental health, during our first appointment she started talking about how she also needed therapy and things like that, judging me for saying I felt bad. The psychiatrist I saw later, when I mentioned my suspicions of autism, told me I couldn't have it because I could speak, which was completely misinformed. It seemed like their professionals got their diplomas from a cereal box. The service was terrible. I hope things have improved since then, but when I went and needed psychological support, it was awful.

1. The phone number for scheduling appointments is never answered; hours pass before someone answers, if they answer at all. 2. The facilities at the Autopista Clinic on 87th Street are truly awful; everything is in very poor condition. I was prescribed group therapy sessions, which took place in a cafeteria with over 30 people. It wasn't a treatment room; it was a dining area that also housed the kitchen, and it constantly smelled of food. The kitchen staff played music at full volume. On the same side, there was an exterior door through which maintenance and security personnel passed, right in front of the room where the therapist gave the talk. This happened several times during the session. On rainy days, the place leaked. Additionally, inside that cafeteria, they have an office for consultations that barely has enough space for one person in terrible working conditions, and more than six professionals had to be crammed in there without chairs. During the therapy sessions, there were unlimited interruptions. I don't know what kind of oversight these institutions have for the treatment of mental illness. 3. To access the cafeteria, which had been converted into a therapy room, I had to pass through an area where the inpatient psychiatric patients were located. The only instruction given was not to give them food or accept anything from them...is this correct? The patients also entered the cafeteria/therapy room. 4. After finishing the therapy sessions, I was told that Dr. Valentina would send my medical leave certificate via email the same day, but I never received it for the five days I attended the sessions. I had to write to her email address; I hope to receive a response soon.
