Dra. Alixmar is great! She is super empowering about women's bodies. She gives a good explanation of what goes on and I admire her knowledge. She's easy to talk to and I feel very comfortable going to her.

The consultation was technically adequate. I believe the diagnosis and recommendations were appropriate, especially regarding the lab findings and the importance of strengthening habits like exercise. However, my experience had aspects that I believe could be improved. During the consultation, I perceived a lack of closeness and contact between doctor and patient, as most of the interaction was centered on the computer and reviewing results, with little room for dialogue. Furthermore, some topics were addressed without sufficient tact and without inquiring beforehand about my habits or medical history, which caused discomfort, especially since I already exercise regularly. I understand that using a computer is necessary for recording medical history; however, I believe it's important to balance this with more humane and personalized care. Similarly, if reviewing multiple tests could affect the consultation time, it would be advisable to request that these be sent in advance, considering that the appointment duration (30 minutes) is limited for a comprehensive initial assessment. I was also surprised to see instructions recorded in my medical record that weren't discussed during the consultation, such as the referral to a nutritionist, which was confusing for me as a patient. I decided to see this professional privately because of her good references; however, my experience was different. It wasn't entirely negative, but I do think there are important aspects of communication and patient care that need improvement.
