After many months of searching for a specialist with the right expertise and knowledge for waist reduction, I came across this wonderful doctor and human being. Horrible experience. I had a tummy tuck and lipo with him and I’m now looking for another doctor to fix what he left.

Avoid at all costs! Dr Hugo will give you time and care ONLY if you are some sort of influencer. He does not care about his patients - he cares about their money. Horrible bed side manner. His staff is trained to focus on collect, collect, collect.
They do not answer your messages or calls post op. They are supposed to give you a nurse to go home with 24 hours after surgery, you are better hiring your own. Their nurses are horrible.
I felt so vulnerable and humiliated when he was supposed to see me post surgery - he only gave me the time of the day because I kept insisting he checked me out. He was talking on the phone the entire time, didn’t allow me to say a comment or ask questions. After paying $20k usd you would expect a small degree of respect. Not here, they just want your money.
Also he’s completely overpriced - I am now looking at another doctor to fix what Dr Hugo left unfinished.

In my quest to find a surgeon to perform my dream surgery, I meticulously researched and considered various options. After extensive consultations and comparisons, I ultimately chose Dr. Hugo due to his extensive background and experience. His membership in the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery and his proficiency in the latest medical technologies further solidified my decision.
The pre-operative process was generally satisfactory, although there were a few minor challenges. The requirement to visit multiple locations for bloodwork, imaging, and other necessary procedures can be inconvenient, especially considering Bogotá’s traffic, security concerns, and limited availability of specialists.
On the day of the surgery, everything proceeded smoothly. I arrived at the hospital at 6:00 a.m., but unfortunately, my boyfriend and family were not informed or updated about my status throughout the day. It was only after I reached my room at approximately 7:00 p.m. that I was able to contact them. They were understandably anxious and uncertain about my well-being. Regrettably, the hospital staff did not take the initiative to inform them about my condition.
Following the surgery, I was not provided with a comprehensive post-operative care plan. While I was advised to refrain from exercise for three months and to sleep upright for eight weeks, I was not given specific dietary restrictions or instructions on what to avoid.
One day, I encountered an urgent situation while in the hospital that required immediate attention. Unfortunately, I was unable to consult with the appropriate medical staff the previous night, as they were unavailable. Consequently, I had to wait until the following day to schedule a post-operative appointment to seek clarification on my care plan.
It was time to return home (I do not reside in Colombia), and I encountered two situations that could have been perceived as emergencies, yet there was no one to contact. The provided WhatsApp contact numbers often take an hour or even several hours to receive a response. In extreme cases, it can take a full day, which is unacceptable if an emergency arises at 7 p.m. and you must wait until the next day for assistance.
My most significant disappointment is that, despite nearly three months post-surgery, the doctor has not yet contacted me, at least through WhatsApp. He is excessively busy with travel, operating, and attending conferences, leaving patients to be seen only by estheticians and nurses. If you are not a model or influencer who can provide him with followers or patients for his services, you are simply another number. Pay your money, be taken advantage of, and then disappear!
The staffing needs substantial improvement in terms of training, communication, and patient interaction. It is concerning that rooms are not being disinfected between patients. I observed the same stain on the floor for two consecutive days in the room where my massage was performed.
I am not satisfied with the outcome. The results did not meet my expectations. My buttocks appear asymmetrical and flat, while my waist seems untouched. Overall, for the amount paid, I anticipated a better result.

I had my surgery at the beginning of April 2025 and took extra time writing my review, as one is generally euphoric after cosmetic surgery.
Today, after two months, I have to say that the extremely long journey (it took me 24 hours to get from Andorra to Bogota) was truly worth it. HAV may not be one of the cheapest cosmetic surgery providers in Colombia, and there are certainly still a few things that could be improved.
BUT, in terms of expertise and the work of its caring staff, HAV is one of the addresses I would recommend to friends for cosmetic surgery without any hesitation.
I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Hugo Aguilar Villa, his staff, and also for the postoperative care provided by Diana, an external nurse who was recommended to me by HAV.
Now, you don't do cosmetic surgery all the time, but if I needed liposuction again, I would definitely go back to HAV.
