Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia (FCV) is a non-profit health institution in the Bucaramanga metropolitan area, with its Instituto Cardiovascular de Colombia located in Floridablanca, Santander. Founded in 1986, it is one of the country’s leading centers for heart and vascular care. The institution reports offering more than 60 medical specialties, including adult and pediatric cardiology, cardiac and vascular surgery, and organ transplantation (heart, kidney, liver, lung and pancreas), alongside neurology, oncology and orthopedics. FCV’s hospitals hold Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation; the Instituto Cardiovascular was, by its account, the first Colombian institution to earn this certification, in 2009. FCV operates a dedicated international-patients service with English-language support for patients traveling from abroad. It's a disgrace. I was referred by Sanitas for an ultrasound and had to request an appointment, but they NEVER answer. They keep the user on hold with a false number of appointments, and when it's finally appointment number 4, they always disconnect the call after a 2-HOUR WAIT!! This institution is rapidly ruining what little good reputation it had.

On December 26, 2025, I went to the ICV (Instituto de Cardiovascular de Valencia) to have a bone density scan. My appointment was for 11:40 a.m., and I arrived half an hour early, as required. They made me wait for more than two hours. I was exhausted from waiting so long, without having lunch, and being a senior citizen. Several times I asked the woman who took my information in module 2 why I wasn't being seen, and she replied that they were behind schedule and couldn't guarantee a time. Around 1:30 p.m., the man in module 1 told me that the staff taking scans were having lunch. The woman in module 2 showed no interest in helping but chatted with friends who approached her workstation.
